Vulnerable Landscapes at Staten Island Museum

Vulnerable Landscapes, now on view at the Staten Island Museum, is an interdisciplinary exhibition that centers the shorelines at the forefront of climate change in one of New York City’s most vulnerable landscapes: Staten Island.

The exhibition, which opened on Earth Day, explores Staten Island’s unique challenges due to its geography and history, with industry and community concentrated where water meets ground. Vulnerable Landscapes circumnavigates Staten Island illuminating the past to shed light on the future.

REPOPULATIONS: New Horizons is the second iteration of the Climate Week-inspired exhibition series REPOPULATIONS which focuses on environmentally-themed subjects and takes place yearly during the summer and early fall months. Curated by Daniela Holban, this exhibition is part of the larger NOoSPHERE Arts’ WE ARE NATURE Series: art events that make full use of the unique stage setting of the Kingsland Wildflowers bird sanctuary at Broadway Stages in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, to engage a diverse audience in environmental efforts through art.

Join The Nature Conservancy for “How to Accelerate Climate Action” on October 7th at 7:00pm, featuring the Conservancy’s Chief Scientist,  Katharine Hayhoe, Zero Hour Co-Founder and Policy Director Zanagee Artis, and New York State Energy Research and Development Authority Sr. Vice President Janet Joseph. The talk will be moderated by Teen Vogue Senior Political Editor Allegra Kirkland and introduced by Nature Conservancy in New York’s Executive Director, Bill Ulfelder.
