Enjoy Free Entry to Whitney Museum on Earth Day 2023

The Whitney Museum of American Art is offering free admission to all visitors on Saturday, April 22, in celebration of both Earth Day and the final weekend of its landmark exhibition no existe un mundo poshuracán: Puerto Rican Art in the Wake of Hurricane Maria.

For one weekend only, the Museum will have three exhibitions on view that, in part, address the environment, climate change, or our relationship to the land.

Free tickets for April 22 are available while supplies last. Advanced tickets are strongly recommended; visit whitney.org/tickets.

The Guggenheim Museum Celebrates Earth Day 2023 Around the World

 

 

 

In celebration of Earth Day, the museum will host The World Around’s annual summit and its first Young Climate Prize, recognizing twenty-five extraordinary minds from diverse backgrounds under the age of twenty-five who are working to combat climate change. These climate pioneers will take part in a mentorship program and design academy, ultimately presenting their projects at the museum. Three winners will be celebrated during the summit, held on April 22.

The Guggenheim and The World Around will also co-host Late Shift x The Young Climate Prize, a ticketed public program on Friday, April 21. The evening will highlight the projects by the Young Climate Prize finalists, and guests will have the opportunity to view short films about the projects, listen to talks between design champions, participate in sustainable artmaking activities, embark on self-guided tours of the museum’s iconic architecture and exhibitions, and connect with the finalists as well as other guests.

Earth Day Celebrations NYC + The Annual NYC DOT Car-Free Earth Day Returns on April 22, 2023

 

 

 

 

Car-Free Earth Day is an annual car-free event hosted by NYC DOT. Programming is presented at signature locations citywide, to promote activism and education surrounding climate change, sustainability, and other relevant topics. This year, Car Free Earth Day will be held on Saturday, April 22nd from 10am to 3pm.

Every year we look forward to a Car Free Earth Day, and this year, it is back in a big way in all five boroughs. It is celebrated annually on the weekend before or after Earth Day, which is April 22nd this year.

Today is Earth Day 2020 ~ a year when we will contemplate our environment from the safety of our homes. In past years, we have celebrated the day in all five boroughs, with car-free spaces for educational kiosks, music, performances, art ~ runs, walks, fitness classes, biking + more. Let’s take a look back at just a few Earth Day events in the Garment District to Flatiron District and Times Square in 2018 and 2019.

Car Free Earth Day 2019 is an annual car-free event held on the Saturday immediately following Earth Day. The Event opens thirty blocks of Broadway from Times Square to Union Square from 9am to 3pm. Within this area, there are six rest stop that include Times Square (42nd Street & Broadway); The Garment District (38th Street & Broadway); Herald Square (34th Street & Broadway); City Zone (26th Street & Broadway); Flatiron (23rd Street & Broadway); and Union Square (17th Street & Broadway). Programming and activités presented by (AIA New York + NYC Department of Transportation (DOT).
