Frieze New York 2023 ~ May 17 to May 21 at The Shed + Frieze Week Around Town

Returning to The Shed, Frieze New York will host over 60 galleries from 27 countries, showcasing both established and emerging galleries from around the world, and representing a snapshot of the art world’s ecosystem. The celebrated Focus Section, dedicated to galleries aged 12 years or younger, will also return to showcase solo presentations by emerging artists.

Each gallery’s presentation will also be available to view online at Frieze Viewing Room, opening May 10 at 11am EST and closing May 22 at 6pm EST.

1-54 Presents its Sixth Annual Fair of Contemporary African Art During Frieze Week 2023

1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair announced details of the 2023 annual New York edition, following the notable success of last year’s return to an in-person fair event in Harlem. The 2023 iteration will take place at Malt House in the Manhattanville Factory District, 429 West 127th Street, from Thursday, May 18 through Sunday, May 21, 2023. The fair will host VIP previews from 11am to 7pm on Thursday, May 18th. Artsy will be hosting the fair online.

Salon Zürcher: 11 Women of Spirit ~ a Satellite Fair to Add to Your List during Frieze New York 2021

Adding to our list of what not-to-miss during Frieze Week (New York, 2021), is the satellite exhibition entitled, Salon Zürcher: 11 Women of Spirit, the works of 11 distinguished female artists.

Femmes d’esprit was an 18th-century French term that referred to independently-minded female painters, writers, and intellectuals, routinely under-recognized by their male contemporaries and publics. In keeping with the spirit of artistic salons, 11 Women of the Spirit involves the presence of the 11 participating artists.

Frieze New York 2019 Extends to Rockefeller Center with 20 Art Installations

Frieze Sculpture 2019 is a major new public art initiative, presented at Rockefeller Center in partnership with Frieze New York and Tishman Speyer from April 25 through June 28. This extension of Frieze New York will present 20 new and significant sculptures across the Rockefeller Center campus by 14 local and international artists.
