Public Art Fund presents ‘Awol Erizku: New Visions for Iris’ on JCDecaux Bus Shelters across New York City & Chicago!

 

 

 

On February 24, Public Art Fund will debut New Visions for Iris, a 350-site photography exhibition by multidisciplinary artist Awol Erizku. On view at 200 JCDecaux bus shelters across New York City and 150 in Chicago, this is the first exhibition in Public Art Fund’s partnership with JCDecaux to be presented in two cities concurrently.

MTA Launches Living Memorial to Honor Transit Workers Lost to COVID-19

 

 

 

The global pandemic has led to unimaginable loss to the MTA family, with 136 employees dying of COVID-19 since the pandemic began. To honor and pay tribute to those who have been lost too soon, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority today launched an engaging visual memorial to those employees, heroes who dedicated their lives to moving New Yorkers through the city and region.

MTA’s Second Avenue Subway Community Information Center on East 125th Street

 

 

Second Avenue Subway Community Information Center, 69 East 125th Street.

In anticipation of Phase 2 of the Second Avenue Subway, an MTA community information center with rotating exhibits is open to the public on East 125th Street, steps from the MTA Metro North Station, and halfway between the #2/3 and #4/5/6.

Update March, 2021: MTA officials are “now bullish on getting early $3 billion from the federal government to cover half of the potential cost of extending the Second Avenue subway.

MTA Arts & Design + Jackie Battenfield = A Beautiful New Installation

The Avenue P on the F Train in Brooklyn can look forward to a new MTA Arts & Design installation coming soon.  The 28 new laminated glass panels, created by artist Jackie Battenfield, will grace the stairways on the ground platform. The first 7 panels are ready for installation now.
