NYC Parks + The Poetry Society of America Unveil Five New Installations in Public Parks During National Poetry Month

NYC Parks Commissioner Sue Donoghue joined The Poetry Society of America Executive Director Matt Brogan, poet Edward Hirsch, and students from P.S. 676 and Summit Academy Charter School to celebrate five new installations bringing poetry to New York’s public parks through the Park Poems initiative.

Poetry Jukebox Returns to Howl! Happening

It’s back! The Poetry Jukebox that made it’s way next to Howl! Happening in Extra Place in 2017 has returned. This particular Poetry Jukebox was created by coffeehouse owners in the Czech Republic as part of an installation interpreted to be like New York City’s Sing for Hope Piano’s ~ 50 of which will be arriving at destinations  throughout the five boroughs this week, and on view through June 23.

The 8th Annual Zine and Photo Book Fair ~ June 2-3 @ Baxter St CCNY

For the 2018 Baxter St at CCNY Zine and Photo Book Fair entitled Common Silence, curator Mauricio Marcin invokes the utopian notion of printed matter’s ability to enact social change through small-scale action to generate micro-policies.  The selection of participants in the fair, all Latin American based, seeks to offer the public a concise overview of this multiplicity of editorial exercises, ranging from Photography and contemporary art to poetry and literature.
