Cow Parade NYC 2021 is grazing across all five boroughs of New York City this month, benefiting the non-profit, God’s Love We Deliver. Fifty life-size fiberglass cows, arrived in two poses (standing and grazing), painted by artists, designers and celebrity supporters, with each cow sponsored by businesses and individuals. The cows are on display, (or put out to pasture) throughout the city’s five boroughs beginning August 18th, remaining on view ~ and now, rounded up for the gala auction, with proceeds going to the non-profit, God’s Love We Deliver.
All Cows are up for auction online on the Heritage Auctions website , now through October 7th!
From the map above, the Cow Parade starts in Hudson Yards, moving on to Bloomingdale’s ~ Macy’s Herald Square ~ Bronx Community College ~ Industry City ~ New York Hall of Science in Queens ~ National Lighthouse Museum on Staten Island and Boardwalk at Beach 108th Street in The Rockaway.
A wide variety of 70 artists, eclectic designers and celebrity supporters run the gamut and include such iconic names as CRASH, DAZE, Cey Adams, Dapper Dan, Lady Pink, Moulin Rouge! the musical, Logan Hicks, FIT, and Neil Patrick Harris/David Burtka naming just a few. Look for these colorful cows popping up at various iconic New York locations.
This has been a tough year for many New Yorkers, and God’s Love We Deliver has had a surge of 30% in people in need of their services. Social distancing made delivering even more difficult. The Cow Parade is a welcome infusion of funds.
“When the city shut down in the middle of March of 2020, literally the safety net fell away from so many New Yorkers in need,” CEO Karen Pearl said.
The mayor’s office estimated that about 45 million people came to see the cows during the three months of the exhibition in 2000. The Cow Parade was founded in 1999, and has traveled the world, with 100 events in more than 34 countries, and more than 6,000 life-size fiberglass cows painted!
