David Byrne is kicking-off the New Year with ‘Reasons To Be Cheerful‘ at The New School on January 8th.
David Byrne began to look for encouraging things that are happening everywhere. Sounds like a great way to kick-off this New Year, and we are very interested in seeing his list. His real question is – have these encouraging things been proven to work, can they be transferred or adopted in other places, and can they be scaled up?
On January 8th from 12:30-1:15pm, Byrne will be doing a short introductory talk on parts of the project, Reasons To Be Cheerful, which will be held at Alvin Johnson/J.M. Kaplan Hall, 66 West 12th Street. The event is free, but RSVP is required and I’m sure you know that seating is limited. If you can’t make it to The New School, the event will be streamed on Byrne’s Facebook Page, and posted on his site.
Reasons To Be Cheerful is an online project – a continuation and extension of some of Byrne’s writings and talks that have already appeared on social media, on his website, at BRIC, IdeasCity and The New Museum.
We should all be asking this question in preparation for a New Year. Can you name a few Reasons To Be Cheerful? Care to share? #CheerIsContageous
