Five unique still-life props used by Emil and his son Dines are included within the exhibition. Some of the props where used for the still-life paintings presented.
A special still-life from Carlsen’s son, Dines, will demonstrate the influence of Emil on his son’s work. Dines was a child painting prodigy and his work stands tall next to his father’s.
From Salmagundi’s palette collection, the largest American artist palette collection in the world, Emil Carlsen’s palette will accompany the exhibition. The palette is a rare example in our collection of an artist showing the use of only primary colors and white.

The exhibition will display works by the artist from 1876 to the artist death in 1932 in all genre including: still-life, landscape, portrait, marine painting and studies and sketches.
