Did you know that Saturday, September 28th, 2019 is Plant a Tree Day? As part of Facebook’s More Together Campaign, the company is hosting a weekend pop-up greenhouse experience, open to the public, in times Square, September 28-29.

This green slice of Times Square offers the opportunity for people to plant their very own tree, which will then be transported by One Tree Planted to a forest in upstate New York to continue to grow. We watched as participants did a little digging.

The event features the Big Tree Seekers Facebook Group, which will be on-site to help visitors plant trees. In addition, a series of immersive displays exploring prominent Big Trees from across the country, a GIF photo booth to share the experience, and other interactive activities are on site.
Plant a Tree Day 2019 is located at 42nd Street and Broadway, in the heart of Times Square.

We can not leave Plant a Tree Day without mentioning our favorite tree installation this month, Roots on Fire by artist Susan Stair ~ with an unveiling happening on Sunday, September 29th from 4-6pm.

Readers will truly enjoy this artist’s journey from beginning to final installation.
