Furies, Fairies, Visionaries to open at Pen + Brush

Celebrating its 125th anniversary, Pen + Brush will be kicking-off the New Year with the exhibition, Furies, Fairies, Visionaries.

This exhibition will address such timely issues as gender, age, sexuality ~ the evolution of urban and natural environments, and the impact of technology through the works of thirty artists who will utilize the visual languages of both fantasy and abstraction to claim and create space.

Through their lens, by way of personal experiences, works that deal with climate change and socio-political inequities demonstrate the vital need for women’s visions and voices to be seen and heard.

Furies, Fairies, Visionaries marks the first major New York exhibition curated by 21c’s Alice Gray Stites. Selections for the exhibition were made by special invitation from the curator as well as from portfolio submissions to Pen + Brush.

Furies, Fairies, Visionaries will be on view from January 25 to March 16, 2019 at Pen + Brush, 29 East 22nd Street, NYC. RSVP for Opening Reception will be held on January 24 from 6-8pm.

Pen + Brush is the only non-profit in New York devoted to showcasing work by women in the contemporary and literary arts.
