Opening Night for Miyazaki Art Show is this Friday! Costumes encouraged.

This second edition of the (3-day only) Miyazaki Art Show will feature over 100 international artists paying tribute to the films of Japanese film-maker and animator, Hayao Miyazaki. On view will be works in all medium, painting, sculpture and limited edition prints with each artist offering their unique perspective and interpretation of characters and themes in Miyazaki’s films.

Miyazaki Art Show: Opening Night Party, by Spoke Art Gallery is this Friday, September 29th from 6-10pm. Spoke Art, 210 Rivington Street, Lower East Side.

This three-day exhibition will be open to the public on Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1, at Spoke Art Gallery, 210 Rivington Street in the Lower East Side.

ABOUT HAYAO MIYAZAKI Hayao Miyazaki is a Japanese film director, producer, screenwriter, animator, author and manga artist. A co-founder of Studio Ghibli, a film and animation studio, he has attained international acclaim as a masterful storyteller and as a maker of anime feature films, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest animation directors of all time.

ABOUT THE GALLERY I SPOKE NYC + SF SPOKE is an art space specializing in new contemporary painting, sculpture and illustration with an emphasis in accessible programming. Started in 2010, the gallery now houses two locations, one in San Francisco’s Lower Nob Hill neighborhood and one in New York City’s Lower East Side. Each space rotates monthly exhibits that feature a wide variety of solo and group shows, many of which feature an international roster of represented artists.
