Harlem Havana 2018

 

 

The Annual Event, Harlem Havana, brings together Cuban artists, musicians, dancers fashion designers and chefs, descending upon New York for a week-long music and cultural festival.

The Harlem Havana schedule for 2018 will run through August 31st with performances and art all over the City.

Beginning on Saturday, August 4th from 2:00-4:00pm, The Cathedral of Saint John the Divine presents Oyu Oro, Afo-Cuban Dance Company

Sunday, August 5 from 10am to Noon, Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey, presents Oyu Oro, Afro-Cuban Dance Company, NJPAC Praise Dancers, Mt. Sinai Praise Dancers et al

Sunday, August 12 from 1:00-5:00pm, Harlem Havana ~ Artz, Rootz & Rhythm at Denny Farrell Riverbank State Park, Riverside Drive at 145th Street

Tuesday, August 14 from 6:30-8:00pm, Alvin Ailey Dance Center presents Afro Cuban Folkloric, Open Level Class Damis Perez “La Mora”, Instructor and Oyu Oro Dance Company

Wednesday, August 15 from 7:00-9:00pm, Jazzmobile: Harlem-Havana Artz, Rootz & Rhythm at Grant’s Tomb presents Yunior Terry, Oyu Oro Afro-Cuban Dancers

Friday, August 17 from 7:00-9:00pm, National Jazz Museum in Harlem present The Feeling Collective Afro-Cuban Group and Tim Porter Trio

Saturday, August 18 from 2:00-3:00pm, Summer in the City at Saint Nicholas Stage on 135th Street, Dancing in the Streets, Carlos Mateu-Salsa Lessons

In addition to performances, Harlem Havana presents ‘Harlem Havana International Photo & Art Exhibit from August 6 through October 30th at Harlem Hospital Mural Pavilion, Lenox Avenue at 136th Street.
