Award-winning photographic artists Jane Sklar and Max Cartagena present their unique works in their 3rd duo show at the Salmagundi Club. The exhibition will take place from June 2-8 in the Thomas Moran gallery on the 2nd floor.

About the artists

Max Cartagena was born and raised in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. He has written and recorded music, worked in Hollywood independent films both in front of and behind the camera, modeled, and designed websites, which evolved into his unique brand of digitally-generated artwork from his original photographs.

His award-winning art has been displayed in galleries, the Salmagundi Club, libraries and juried art festivals in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. He recently won a Bergen County, NJ-wide awards for digital photography in 2019 and 2020.

Jane Sklar opened her door as a professional photographer in 2011, after over a decade working in the darkroom. Using a unique technique combining original and digital imagery invented by Max Cartagena, she adapted a way of breaking down the layers of a photograph using older computers and PC programs without using Photoshop. Her artwork on view is a one-of-a-kind and not reproduced.

The photographic exhibition, Jane Sklar + Max Cartagena, will be on view from June 2nd through June 8th, 2024 at Salmagundi Club, 47 Fifth Avenue between 11th and 12th Streets in Greenwich Village. The exhibition is on the second floor in the Thomas Moran Gallery, and is free and open to the public.
