Judge Block and 5Pointz: A Life in the Arts will be a one-night event at The National Arts Club.
Judge Block is the author of the recent 5Pointz decision, in which he awarded $6.7 million in damages in a case brought by a group of graffiti artists under the Visual Artists Right Act (VARA). On Wednesday evening, Judge Block (who is a member of The National Arts Club) will be in discussion with art law attorney, Christopher Robinson, speaking about his life on and off the bench.
Although he cannot comment on the 5Pointz case, this is an opportunity to see “the artworks at issue in the case and to explore with the judge the fascinating law underpinning the artists’ claims.”
