
Materials for the Arts Presents ~ Contemporary Reuse
Exhibits at Materials for the Arts are always a special event. This month, the MFTA Gallery presents ‘Contemporary Reuse‘ featuring the works of “current and impactful artists who celebrate reusable materials in their art practice.” The artists will include Andrea Burgay, Pauline Galiana, Justin Horne, Adam Daniel Murray, Ben Peterson, Carol Pereria, Sol Sax and Annalisa Iadicicco.
Contemporary Reuse, celebrating reusable materials, will highlight sculptures made of car bumpers, fabric scraps, old puzzles, cut-off wooden blocks, and collages made of shredded and ripped paper + performances using metal hardware as instrument and textiles.
Contemporary Reuse will be on view at Materials for the Arts from September 21 to December 4, 2017. Opening Reception will be held on Thursday, September 21st from 6-9pm. MFTA is located at 33-00 Northern Blvd in Long Island City. The Event is Free with an RSVP.
