Norman Hall and The Photography Year Book celebrated established and emerging photographers from 1954 to 1963. The exhibition, Mid-Century American: Vintage Photographs From the International Photography Year Book, at Keith de Lellis Gallery, features images from Hall’s collection.

As the Picture Editor for The Times, Hall chose photographers and their photographs for their ability to “record the truth,” with a focus on human interest. The images range from fashion shoot outtakes to LIFE magazine assignments and are a true glimpse into the mid-century mindset of America during those years. In Hall’s own words, “….it can be said with some certainty that the camera does not lie.”
