Migrations: the Making of America ~ a Citywide Festival




Carnegie Hall presents Migrations: The Making of America, a citywide festival that traces the journeys of people from different origins and backgrounds who helped to shape and influence the evolution of American arts and culture. The festival features more than 100 events celebrating the many contributions of the people who helped to build our American culture. The event will kick-off on March 9th and run through May, 2019 at more than 75 leading cultural and academic institutions.

Migrations: The Making of America is a festival that puts a shine on the Big Apple, as it struts its stuff.  Check out the plethora of fabulous events beginning at Carnegie Hall, and a complete list throughout the City from Music at Dizzy’s, Symphony Space and Saint Peter’s Church to Dance and Theater at the Japan Society and the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture; Exhibitions at the Museum of the City of New York, Ellis Island, and the Tenement Museum; Talks at New York Historical Society, China Institute, and New York Genealogical and Biographical Society, Film and Culinary, Radio and Digital, to name just a few.
