The Avenue P on the F Train in Brooklyn can look forward to a new MTA Arts & Design installation coming soon. The 28 new laminated glass panels, created by artist Jackie Battenfield, will grace the stairways on the ground platform. The first 7 panels are ready for installation now.
Known for her luminous paintings and prints, with a focus on the most abstract qualities of landscape-storms, clouds, brushfires, water ripples – and trees & flowers, the Brooklyn-born artist hails from Penn State University, with an MFA from the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University. She is currently living and working in New York.
Battenfield is also the author of The Artist’s Guide: How to Make a Living Doing What You Love
