24 COVID-19 Testing Sites Set up at Churches

An initiative to expand access to testing in low-income communities will open on Tuesday, May 12th. The State is partnering with Northwell Health to establish 24 additional, temporary testing sites at churches in predominantly minority communities.

Testing will be by appointment, and that information is yet to be posted.

In our area, Testing Sites opening week 1 (May 12-16)

Abyssinian Baptist Church, 132 West 138th Street (Swab only for those who suspect they are infected)

Testing Sites opening week 2 (May 19-23)

Mount Neboh Baptist Church, 1883 Adam Clayton Powell Jr Blvd. (Swab only for those who think they are infected)

Convent Avenue Baptist, 420 West 145th Street (Swab only for those who suspect they are infected)

There will also be six churches in the Bronx and six churches in Brooklyn.

There continue to be walk-in Urgent Car Centers providing testing if you are willing to pay your copay, at Northwell Health and City MD.
