What better place to celebrate Kwanzaa than at The Apollo Theater. This year, Kwanzaa Celebration: Regeneration Night will be held on Saturday December 22 with two shows ~ 2:00 and 7:30 p.m., featuring performances by Abdel R. Salaam’s Forces of Nature Dance Theatre with special guest Sonia Sanchez, and host Imhotep Gary Byrd.
The 7:30 p.m. show will feature a special tribute to Ntozake Shange with appearances by Sonia Sanchez, Trazana Beverley, Craig Harris, Dyane Harvey, Billy “Spaceman” Patterson, Rueben Santiago-Hudson and Michael Wimberly. This concert is part of Holidays at the Apollo, which includes programs that celebrate culture, music, and community during the festive season.
