Classical Theatre of Harlem Returns to Marcus Garvey Park + Jazzmobile!

Each Summer, we look forward to performances by The Classical Theatre of Harlem on stage in Marcus Garvey Park. This season they will present The Bacchae, a story in which Dionysus, the god of wine,, prophecy, religious ecstasy, and fertility, returns to his birthplace in Thebes in order to clear his mother’s name, and to punish the insolent city state for refusing to allow people to worship him.

Performances will begin on July 6th and run through July 28th, with pre-show performances by Jazzmobile!

The Marcus Garvey Park Amphitheater is located at 18 Mount Morris Park West, enter on 124th Street and Fifth Avenue. This is a Free event.
