Conversations with Harriet: Looking Back and Moving Forward and Postcards from the Present will open at the Walls-Ortiz Gallery and Center on May 18th.
Inspired by the legacy of Harriet Tubman’s tenacity and compassion for others in the midst of struggle,, the artwork explores a diversity of “conversations” with Harriet through visual and multimedia expressions.
Participating artists include LuLu LoLo, Ann Croney, Lamar Metcalf, David von Kittelberger, Andrea Walls, Lili White, Ward Yoshimoto.
Conversations with Harriet: Looking Back and Moving Forward and Postcards from the Present is curated by Adrienne Croskey, Maria Liu Wong, Anthony Artis, and Sarah Gerth van den Berg. The exhibit is on view at Walls-Ortiz Gallery and Center, The Triangle Building, 2204 Frederick Douglass Boulevard at 119th Street from May 18 to July 27, 2018.
