This weekend, July 27, 28 and 29, for the First Annual Descarga En El Barrio: A Caribbean Music Festival. #DescargaFest highlighting the cultural contributions of the Puerto Rican community that established El Barrio as home, preserve the memory of the recently retired Loiza Festival in El Barrio, and display the musical and cultural similarities people of Caribbean, Latinx, and African descent share.
Festival-goers will delight in food + artisans vendors, live Salsa & Bomba performances, a host of kids activities, an Orisha procession, and other surprises! We’ll also feature both old school (vinyl) and new school DJ’s bringing you the vibes from across the Afro-Caribbean diaspora and beyond, including Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Reggaeton, Cumbia, Afrobeat, y mas!
