El Passport at El Museo del Barrio

Beginning May 13th, El Museo del Barrio is excited to debut an exhibition of artwork created by participants of El Museo’s Accessibility Programs, designed for children and adults with alternate learning, developmental and physical abilities. Guided by specialized educators, participants from East Harlem organizations Terence Cardinal Cooke Health Care Center, the NYC Autism Charter School, the Shield Institute, and Aprende Más, explored various themes related to El Museo’s Permanent Collection and past exhibitions. The works will be on view until May 10, 2019 in our Cuentamé Gallery, located on the 1st floor.

On May 18th, to coincide with our long-standing family program Super Sábado, the Museum will present Nuestras Voces: El Barrio and Beyond, an exhibition of colorful and vivid artworks made by participants of El Museo del Barrio’s off-site partnership programs. The exhibition will feature works by participants from P.S. 72 The Lexington Academy (East Harlem), P.S. 83 Luis Munoz Rivera School (East Harlem), P.S. 146 Anna M. Short School (East Harlem), P.S. 89 Elmhurst School (East Elmhurst), P.S. 307Q Pioneer Academy (Corona), and P.S. 122 Louis Armstrong Middle School (East Elmhurst). Partnering organizations also include Carver Senior Center (East Harlem) and Art From Within, . The exhibition will be on view until August 25, 2019 in our Cuentamé Gallery.
