Get Ready for the 51st African American Day Parade ~ a Virtual Celebration in 2020

Save the date for The 51st Annual African American Day Virtual Parade, September 20th at Noon. The event will be broadcast across various online platforms including Facebook, YouTube, and the AADP website.

Virtual leading HBCU Band, The Ocean of Soul Marching Band of Texas Southern University, with performances by Melba Moore, Vy Higginsen’s Sing Harlem Choir, Joe Brown, and Vina Love.

Virtual Parade Announcers: Olivia Sanders, Dr. Bob Lee, and Yasmin Cornelius.

This years Grand Marshalls include Michael J. Garner, VP & Chief Diversity Officer, MTA; Cheryl McKissack Daniel, President & Chief Executive Officer, McKissack & McKissack; Elbert Shamsid-Deen, President & CEO, Thruway Builders, Inc. & Thruway Insurance Brokers; and Dapper Dan, Fashion Innovator.

This years Marshalls include Larry Scott Blackmon, Founder & Chief Executive Officer of The Blackmon Organization; and Ashley Keiko, Musician & Founder of The Keiko Studios Music Academy.

Theresa Freeman Community Service Awardees include Tamara Norman, Melvin Muhammad, the Reverend Al Sharpton, and Cordell Cleare.
