It’s time for the Guerrilla Gallery Paint Jam in el Barrio. The new mural will honor Harlem in a collaborative effort by member of HART: The Harlem Art Collective.
Stop by as they create their vision, June 15 and 16 from Noon to 8pm. Have some of your own creative thoughts on Harlem? You are invited to paint with guidelines listed as follows:
1. No larger than 8′ x 8′ (can be as small as you want)
2. Must relate to Harlem and the community of East Harlem in some way (can be images, patterns, lettering, abstract, wheat-pasted photographs, poetry, etc)
3. No solid white or large spaces of very light coloring. (The idea is to paint a colorful collage of images as the backdrop to the word HARLEM)
After the wall is completely covered, they will paint the letters HARLEM in white font across the entire wall.
While HART will have some paint and brushes, but please try to bring your own. No spaces will be reserved, first come first serve!
See you all on Saturday June 15th and Sunday June 16th from 12-8pm at the Guerrilla Gallery on 116th between 2nd and 3rd Ave!
