Ten presentation boards depicting the site and history of Harlem’s African Burial Ground are on view in an exhibit in the lobby of the State Office Building. The exhibit, presented by the Harlem African Burial Ground Task Force, were unveiled on May 5th, focusing on the historical significance of the site, and its history from the 1660s to present day. The African Burial Ground is located at the former 126th Street Bus Depot, near East 126th Street and First Avenue.
The exhibit has been extended through September 15, 2017. The State Office Building is located at 163 West 125th Street, corner of Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd, in the State Office Building.
