Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Sprinkle Splash Sweet Shoppe, https://sprinklesplash.com/ located in the historic La Marqueta in East Harlem (1590 Park Avenue @115th Street) announces its first ever “contactless” cake vending machine: “Sweet Shop Pop Box”. A live demonstration is scheduled on Friday, February 12th at 12:00 pm. The effort is supported locally by East Harlem community-based organizations, Union Settlement / Business Development Center – Buy Local East Harlem, and Uptown Grand Central.
The “Sweet Shop Pop Box”, will be filled with Valentine’s inspired cakes, chocolate covered strawberries, cupcakes and mini cakes. After Valentine’s Day, it will be stocked with freshly baked cakes and “Party in a Box” sets. “Party in a Box” includes cake pops, chocolate covered pretzels, and a pastry bag with icing for patrons to inscribe a personalized message. Prices will range between $25 – $100 and initially will only accept cash. Special orders will continue to be taken via telephone: 646-548-6880, email or website, and available for curbside pickup.
The COVID-19 crisis caused businesses to rethink their business models to include online sales and contactless pickup and delivery. Although the brick and mortar Sprinkle Splash Sweet Shoppe is temporarily closed, The “Sweet Shop Pop Box” will provide reassurance that customers can safely choose their “sweets” while respecting social distancing guidelines, and support an East Harlem small business. When Sprinkle Splash Sweet Shoppe reopens, they will continue to offer their traditional quesitos, cupcakes, tropical donuts and cafe con leche.
Tabatha Raimundi, owner of “Sprinkle Splash Sweet Shoppe” says, “I am excited to offer my clients an innovative way to purchase high end, luxury cakes in a convenient, safe and affordable manner.”
