  1. I’m disabled in a wheelchair and can’t attend the 50th African American Day Parade, is there any way I can get a recording of it?

    1. The Parade website has a telephone number for you to call. It is 917-294-8107. On that site, you can email your questions. However, there is a wheelchair taxi dispatcher here in New York. You can call the dispatcher number & they will send a wheelchair accessible taxi for you, and you can call them again when you’re ready to come home. They are quick & efficient. Their # is 646-599-9999. Adam Clayton Powell Jr Blvd will probably not be open to traffic, but if you are dropped off at Lenox Avenue, you might be able to do 1 block crosstown? If you decide to take the taxi, you might consider getting a VIP pass for the State Office Bldg location on 125th Street. The parade runs from 112th St to 136th Street. For your information, there is an elevator at the #2/3 at Lenox Avenue & 135th Street – across the street from The Schomburg Center, at Harlem Hospital (that happens to have a really good art exhibit up right now, and they are wheelchair accessible). One way or the other, I’m sure you will enjoy the Parade.
