Ron English returns to Allouche Gallery with Delusionville

Ron English: Delusionville, new paintings and sculptures, will open at Allouche Gallery on Thursday, October 11th. In this exhibition, English returns to the Gallery with an aggressive reinterpretation of pop culture.  Prepare to be mesmerized by the spectacle of chaos!

The twenty plus paintings created over the past three years feature English’s iconic characters navigating metamorphic landscapes and grappling with delusions of ecstasy and heartbreak.

English is returning to the Gallery when, in 2016 he unveiled Ron English: Guernica, eighteen paintings expressing English’s narrative to Pablo Picasso’s 1937 painting Guernica.

Also featured is a series of collaborative works from Ron English and Daniel Johnston titled Rival Verses.  Johnston, a Texas singer/songwriter/visual artist and English met in Austin in 1983, and over the course of their thirty-plus year friendship have collaborated on art and music numerous times. The pieces included in this exhibition range from 2007 through 2018.

Allouche Gallery will hold an Opening Reception for the exhibition, Ron English: Delusionville, on Thursday, October 11 from 6-9pm. Allouche Gallery is located at 82 Gansevoort in the Meatpacking District, NYC.
