Are you ready for some ice cream? Saturday, at 5 pm on July 29th (2017), Sugar Hill Creamery opened its doors at 184 Lenox Avenue in Harlem.
The owners, Nicolas Larsen and Petrushka Bazin Larsen call their shop “a love affair between community and food.” And from the length of the line on Opening Day, we think the community agrees. Even at 7pm, the line extended to Settepani.
Located on Lenox Avenue between 119th-120th Streets, it was the 1st of what would become 4 shops, sprinkled throughout the Harlems and Brooklyn. In March, 2023, Sugar Hill Creamery owned its doors in East Harlem (its 4th shop) to another long line down the block.
Taking a look-back ~ Below are a few pic’s from Opening Day, July 29, 2017 ~ their first shop on Lenox Avenue in Harlem.

It’s been a few years since that opening in 2017. Sugar Hill Creamery now has three locations ~ Lenox Ave in Harlem; Broadway near 150th Street; in the Time Out Market DUMBO on Water Street and the newest Sugar Hill Creamery located at 1642 Lexington Avenue between 103rd & 104th Streets in East Harlem, opened in March, 2023 to another long line out the door and down the block!
