
Pictor Gallery will open its doors to a solo exhibition by West African born, Harlem based artist TAFA entitled The Echoes of Memories.
Well known for his colorful abstract oil & acrylic paintings of musicians, sporting events, marches, and protests, his brush strokes take viewers on a literal moving adventure. TAFA describes his practice as meaning to “materialize the transient, the spiritual” within ordinary and commonplace social pursuits.
Ghana, West Africa born, Harlem based, TAFA has exhibited worldwide, with his paintings residing in both public and private collections including the Superior Court, Washington, D.C.; Barclays Bank; Sparrow Hospital, Michigan; Shell Co.; Ghana’s National Museum; Carver Federal Bank; and notable civic leaders including former President Bill Clinton, and former New York City Mayor, David Dinkins. He was named ‘Academy’s Sport Artist of the Year (ASA)’ in 2010.
