Trader Joe’s Harlem Invites Creative Art Works to Bring Some ‘Harlem Heat’ to The 125th Street Store ~ Opening July 25th!

Later this summer, Harlem will welcome its first Trader Joe’s, to be located at 121 West 125th Street. In anticipation of its opening, the Manager for Trader Joe’s, Tracey-Ann Reeves, walked the neighborhood, looking for inspiration for their new Harlem store. She found it everywhere, but in particular, in the colorful and thoughtful murals painted by students at Creative Art Works on the Plaza at The State Office Building. A partnership was formed, and work began with CAW Youth Apprentices as part of a Public Art Youth Employment program.

Opening July 25 ,2024

At the same address, Sephora Harlem will open its doors on Friday, July 19, 2024.

While we wait for Trader Joe’s Harlem to open, let’s take a look at the mural ~ Harlem Heat, created by Creative Art Works. This is the first store mural created for Trader Joe’s by an entity outside the organization.
