Vulnerable Landscapes at Staten Island Museum

Vulnerable Landscapes, now on view at the Staten Island Museum, is an interdisciplinary exhibition that centers the shorelines at the forefront of climate change in one of New York City’s most vulnerable landscapes: Staten Island.

The exhibition, which opened on Earth Day, explores Staten Island’s unique challenges due to its geography and history, with industry and community concentrated where water meets ground. Vulnerable Landscapes circumnavigates Staten Island illuminating the past to shed light on the future.

NYC Parks & Partners Complete Conceptual Plan for Parks on Staten Island’s East Shore

 

 

 

NYC Parks today announced the completion of its “Shoreline Parks Plan,” New York City’s first-ever conceptual plan for the East Shore of Staten Island. Addressing approximately 5.5 miles of shoreline and 1,000 acres of NYC Parks property, the Shoreline Parks Plan re-envisions parks along Staten Island’s shore and introduces diversified amenities and activities; increases accessibility and circulation; and improves the overall visitor experience.
