The Municipal Art Society (MAS) has set the dates and schedules for the annual Jane’s Walk, named for the urbanist/activist, known for her influence in urban planning and preserving neighborhoods.

The event will take place from May 5-7, when hundreds of local volunteers will share their expertise with free walking tours that will take place in all five boroughs.

The walks will take you from Jane Jacobs’ West Village to The Hills on Governors Island, all over Harlem and El Barrio, and through the South Bronx. Learn the secrets of our City. Check out the Map of free tours.

For more on Jane Jacobs, a documentary entitled “Citizen Jane: Battle For The City”, directed by Matt Tyranuer, will open at the IFC Center on Friday, April 21st.

Register for the Jane Jacobs Centennial Lecture with Michael Kimmelman at Museum at Eldridge Street on Wednesday, May 3rd.
