Pagani in Vanderbilt Hall, Grand Central Terminal

The sign said ~ The Story of a Dream ~ and all the people standing behind the black velvet-roped area sure did look like they had stars in their eyes. The object of their glassy stares is a collection of five Zonda Hypercars + the latest model, the Huayra Roadster BC, by Pagani Automobili.

Check out the eye-candy behind that velvet-rope in Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Terminal.

Twenty years ago, Horacio Pagani unveiled his first Hypercar, the Zonda, and today Pagani Automobili, while still a family-run business, has found its niche in a market dominated by major car manufacturers across the globe.

The Exhibition, celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the first Pagani car model, tells the story of one man’s journey from his early life as the son of a baker in his native Argentina to becoming a pioneer in composite materials to fulfilling his dream of designing cars in Italy. .

The showcase is presented by tire partner Pirelli, one of the strongest partnerships in the automotive industry. Begun 10 years ago, the relationship between the two brands has experienced a number of important milestones: from the first record beaten at the Nurburgring Nordschleife in 2010 with a Pagani Zonda R on Pirelli P Zero slick tires, to the development of the Formula One modeling process of the P Zero Trofeo R tires for the new Huayra Roadster BC, and many more in between.

The exhibition dates are November 4 through November 8, from 10am to 7pm in Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Terminal.

Not to burst your balloon, we inquired about the price of the Zonda Roadster, which is about the cost of a nice co-op here at $1.4 million. On the higher-end of the Pagani spectrum is the Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta, priced for the Holiday’s at $17.5 million, and business is good ~ the company brought two unique vehicles to the 2018 Geneva Auto Show.

Pagani Automobili was founded in 1992, but its founder, Horacio Pagani was not new to the industry, having formerly managed Lamborghini’s composites department. Moving on from here, in 1991 Pagani established Modena Design.
