Summer Performances Series will begin June 23
MetLiveArts will present an eight-week summer series of performances and films beginning Friday, June 23 at Met Breuer. Described as “timely, edgy, and pointedly political” the series, titled Theater of the Resist, takes its name from the technique in art of using layers of opposing materials to – resist – the medium, generating negative space.
The series is presented in conjunction with the exhibition The Body Politic: Video from The Met Collection, which will highlight dance, spoken word, comedy, music and film.
Theater of the Resist will take place on Friday and Saturday evenings from June 23 through August 12, from 6-8 pm, on the fifth floor and is free with Museum admission. Theater of the Resist is co-organized by MetLiveArts and political journalist and musician Kali Holloway. Met Breuer is located at 945 Madison Avenue at 75th Street.
