For the first time ever, Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue will be closed to all vehicular traffic for three Sundays in December as part of a program called “Fifth Avenue for All.”
On December 4, 11, and 18 between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m., Fifth Avenue from 49th to 57th Streets will be pedestrian-only.
Food vendors and musicians will take over the street’s sidewalks. Enjoy the Rockefeller Center Tree, Ice Skating, and the Channel Garden. Don’t miss FAO Schwarz, and give thanks at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Enjoy the festive holiday windows all the way up to 57th Street. Keep walking to the Columbus Circle Holiday Market, or head south to Bryant Park for more ice skating and another Holiday Market.
