Ducks on the Loose, and Urban Park Rangers stepped in (rowed in) to rescue the ten ducks in the pond at Bowne Park, Flushing, Queens.
The expert Urban Park Rangers worked to corral the ducks from the pond and get them to safety, since they were unable to make it to the shoreline on their own.

These were domesticated ducks, illegally released into the park about two weeks ago. Unlike wild ducks, they can not fly or find food on their own.

The Urban Park Rangers surrounded the ducks with their canoes, and scooped them up! Now rescued, they will be transported by They All Want to Live and taken to an animal sanctuary in Goshen.

Just a reminder, releasing animals into NYC Parks is illegal. If you observe an abandoned or endangered animal in the park, call 311.
