Utopia/Dystopia: Dystopian Amusements at Hauser & Wirth

Hauser & Wirth Publishers, in association with Morbid Anatomy will present a seven-part series entitled Utopia/Dystopia. First up, Utopia/Dystopia: Dystopian Amusements ~ a discussion on the Buddhist Hell Gardens of Thailand, followed by a screening of apocalyptic film shorts, and a talk on death and disaster-themed amusements at Coney Island.

Utopia/Dystopia: Dystopian Amusements will take place on Wednesday, October 25 from 7:00-9:00pm at Hauser & Wirth, 548 West 22nd Street. Hear from filmmaker Ronni Thomas whose short-subject films profile characters who inhabit macabre and esoteric spaces, Joanna Ebenstein, curator of the Morbid Anatomy blog, Laetitia Barbier, who was programming director and head librarian at the recently shuttered Morbid Anatomy Museum.

The series Utopia/Dystopia will run through March, 2018.  Here are dates to save for the remainder of this year:

This series will take place at the Chelsea location of Hauser & Wirth, 548 West 22nd Street.  While you’re there, you still have time to visit the exhibit Arte Povera, on view to October 28.
