A group exhibition of vintage photographs entitled Picture the Word will open at the Keith de Lellis Gallery on April 20. Such renowned photographers as Weegee, Bill Brandt, and Simpson Kalisher will have work on view, in addition to anonymous press photographers and well-known photojournalists. The viewer will be presented with the question – does the text alter your view of the photograph? In an age where the media has been called into question, this exhibit focuses on the “strengths and limitations of the written word and the photographic image.”
Picture the Word will be on view from April 20th through June 23 at Keith de Lellis Gallery, 1045 Madison Avenue, #3 (between 79th and 80th St.)
