Volez, Voguez, Voyagez: the Rich History of Louis Vuitton ~ Opened in New York City

The historic journey of the House of Louis Vuitton has arrived in New York in the form of the exhibit, Volez, Voguez, Voyagez.  Curated by Oliver Saillard, with set designs by Robert Carsen, it is divided into ten chapters – one of which is entirely devoted to the United States and New York City.

The exhibition retraces the iconic House of Louis Vuitton from 1854 to present day, featuring objects and documents from the Louis Vuitton heritage archives, articles on loan from the Palais Galliera, and the Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris.

The journey will begin with ~ the trunk, and conclude with a display devoted to the “savoir-faire of the artisans in the Louis Vuitton workshops.”  It is a story told through the portraits of its founders, as well as those who are currently at the helm, inventing the Louis Vuitton of tomorrow.

Louis Vuitton: Volez, Voguez, Voyagez will be on view from October 27 through January 7, 2018 at the American Stock Exchange Building, 86 Trinity Place, NYC.
